Donald Tandberg Obituary

Donald Tandberg, age 85, of Colfax, WI, was called home to be with the Lord, early Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at the Colfax Health & Rehabilitation Center, with his family by his side. He was born on October 21, 1930, to Art and Mabel (Hanson) Tandberg. Don graduated from Colfax High School with the Class of 1948. He married Gladys Schwartz and they took over his dad’s farm in 1952. Don worked at the Colfax Creamery for seven years and went to vocational school for three years, but his heart was fixed on farming. He loved all of it, especially the tractor work and the visiting with his neighbor farmers. Don also enjoyed tractor pulls, car shows and will surely be remember for his singing and playing of his 1946 Gibson guitar. All who knew Don found a kind, generous heart and he loved all categories of life to the fullest. His faith and family were the foundation of his life and he will be missed greatly. Don is survived by his wife, Gladys; son, Mike (Chris) Tandberg; two daughters, Kathy (Ralph) Jerde and Vickie Reiter; twelve grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Eunice Jaquish. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Avenue in Colfax, with Pastor Connie Shager officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax.
