Ethel Louise Grambo, age 94, of Elk Mound, WI, passed away on Monday, February 22, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Eau Claire with her family by her side. Ethel was born on February 18, 1922, in Elk Mound Township to William and Emma (Stobb) Rose. She attended Pleasant Valley Country School. Ethel married Harold Grambo on August 31, 1940, at Beyer Settlement Parsonage. They farmed their entire lives in the Township of Elk Mound where they raised their five children. Ethel enjoyed gardening, baking, crocheting, quilting, sewing and other craft projects. She loved to entertain family and friends by playing the piano. She never took piano lessons and played only “by ear.” Ethel was a lifelong member of St. Katherine’s Lutheran Church and was active in the Ladies Aid. Ethel is survived by her daughter, Bonnie (Reuben) Knutson of Elk Mound, David Grambo of Eau Claire, Linda (Mike) Martin of Rice Lake, and Tammi (Tom) Bechel of Durand; grandchildren, Jeff Knutson, Jackie (Steve) Riley and Jody (Jerry) Fizel, Scott (Renee) Grambo, Sara Grambo and Susan Grambo, Jason (Lynn Hartung) Bechel and Eric Bechel; great-grandchildren, Dalton, Cayce, Gunnar and Charlie Grambo, Katie and Jaida Riley and Justin Fizel; brother, Phillip (Twylia) Rose of Elk Mound; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ethel was preceded in death by her parents; husband Harold; son Dennis; brother William; sisters Marvel Brown and Alma Schumacher. Funeral Services for Ethel Grambo will be at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2016, at St. Katherine’s Lutheran Church-Beyer Settlement, rural Menomonie, WI, with Pastor Shawn Kauffeld officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of service. Burial will take place at a later date. Sampson Funeral Home, Colfax, WI is serving her family.
