Karen E. Silva

Karen E. Silva, 74, of Colfax, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems of Eau Claire, with her family by her side. Karen was born July 22, 1941 in Colfax, WI, to Arthur and Mabel (Anderson) Rostamo. She graduated from Colfax High School in 1959. Karen enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren and family above all else. She loved to cook and bake and always made sure everyone was taken care of. She treasured the many travel adventures she spent with her children and grandchildren and reminisced about them often. She was a member of the Colfax Lutheran Church and was active with the WELCA within the church over her lifetime. Karen was an avid Green Bay Packer fan and enjoyed attending local school sporting events. She cherished her time spent with friends near and far and so enjoyed gathering with the Birthday Club Ladies. Karen will be greatly missed by all that loved her. Karen is survived by her children, Tami (Jeff) DeMoe and Brent (Vicki) Silva; four loving grandchildren, Bronson DeMoe, Alexa DeMoe, Brandon Silva and Kayla Silva; sister-in-law, LouAnn Rostamo; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Wallace and Archie; sisters, Joan Peterson, Sonja Anderson and Sandra Nelson. Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 2, 2016, at Colfax Lutheran Church, 601 River Street in Colfax, WI, with Pastor Leslie Walck officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Inurnment will be in the Holden Lutheran Church Cemetery at a later date. Sampson Funeral Home is serving the family.
