He was born in Colfax on February 27, 1924 to Arthur and Jessie (Fjelstad) Sundby. Ken was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church and was an active member all his life serving his Lord and Savior as elder, Sunday school teacher and youth leader. Ken married Lois Foslid on July 2, 1949 at Colfax Lutheran Church, and to this union five children were born. He grew up on a farm and continued farming all his life. He also worked at Johnson Motors in Eau Claire for a short time and at Peter's Meats in Chippewa Falls for twenty years. After retirement, Ken and Lois traveled throughout the United States, including Hawaii, and spent several winters in Texas and Florida. Ken loved his family, and especially enjoyed time spent together with them. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Lois; five children, Richard (Debra) Sundby, Keith (Pam) Sundby, Sharon (David) Zuehlke, Beth (David) Young, and Rolland (Fredalene) Sundby; eight grandchildren, Travis (Chelsea) Sundby, Joshua (Brittany) Sundby, Nathan (Tian) Sundby, Chris (Misako) Zuehlke, James Zuehlke, Shelly (Tim) Cullen, Jennifer (Thomas) Grandouiller and Max Sundby; six great-grandchildren, Tyler, Emma, Abbie, Lizzie, Matias and Aurora; two brothers, John (Elaine) Sundby and Olin (Shirley) Sundby; two special family friends who are dear to our hearts, Heather and Trina Pyka; and also by many other family relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; three siblings, Devonne, and infant twins June and Donald. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at New Life Church of the Nazarene, 704 Main Ave. W., in Wheeler, with Pastor Steve Crites officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Lower Running Valley Cemetery, town of Colfax. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to donor's favorite charity.
