Lon H. Pecore

Lon H. Pecore, 78, of Colfax, WI, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at his residence. Lon was born in Colfax, WI, on March 7, 1937, a son of Merritt and Hattie (Ebling) Pecore. He graduated from Colfax High School with the Class of 1954. Lon served in the U.S. Navy from 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1957. Lon worked for several electronic companies, until he took a job for the U.S. Postal Service for a total of 25 years, in which 22 years was a Rural mail Carrier in the Colfax area. Lon was a member of Colfax Lutheran Church. Lon is survived by his sisters-in-law, Bernice Pecore of Bloomer, WI, and Mary Pecore of Two Rivers, WI; nieces and nephews; and life-long friends in Colfax. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Leo and Clay Pecore; nephews, Brad and Ronald Pecore; nieces, Debbie and Roxanne Pecore; aunts and uncles; and former wife, Judy (Henneman) Pecore. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015, at Colfax Lutheran Church, 601 River St. in Colfax, with Pastor Leslie Walck officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 8, 2015, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave. in Colfax, and again one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax, WI, with Military Honors conducted by the Russell-Toycen American Legion Post 131. Memorials preferred to Colfax Lutheran Church.
