Patricia Ann Sumstad

Patricia Sumstad, 85, of Colfax, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, March 10, 2014, at her home in Colfax. Pat was born on February 11, 1929 in Cooks Valley to Gilbert and Leona (Meinen) Prince. She attended and graduated from Colfax High School with the Class of 1946. On November 12, 1955, Pat was united in married Arnold Sumstad at St. John’s the Baptist Catholic Church in Cooks Valley. She was employed at Bronken Insurance office and retired from People’s State Bank in Colfax in1991. Pat enjoyed golfing, playing cards with friends and watching all the sporting events at Colfax High School. Pat is survived by her son, James Sumstad of Watertown, MN; 2 brothers, Clyde Prince of Colfax, and Rollie Prince of Bloomer; 1 sister, Jackie Oldenberg of Bloomer; and also by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 45 years, Arnold; 2 brothers, Dennis and Tom Prince. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave. in Colfax, with a rosary vigil beginning at 6:30 p.m. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in the Village of Colfax. Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax is assisting the family with arrangements.
