Ralph Bosben Obituary

Ralph William Bosben, 85, of Colfax, was called to Heaven on November, 25, 2016. He was born on May 6, 1931, in Madison, Wisconsin, to Clarence and Hedwig (Hildebrandt) Bosben. Ralph served in the United States Navy on the U.S.S. Fitch from 1948 to 1952. During his time in the Navy, Ralph worked in the boiler room on the ship which led to a career as a power plant operator/engineer for over 30 years with the state of Wisconsin. He enjoyed gardening, antiques and wood working. Ralph loved spending time with his family and sharing his knowledge. Ralph is survived by his daughters, Catherine Bosben and partner Dennis Price of Menomonie, Rachel Tilseth of Menomonie, Lynne and Chris Matalas of Colfax, Nanette and Jeff Wallace of Colfax, Hattie and James Guski of Colfax; brothers, Clarence Bosben Jr. and Lawrence Bosben; 11 grandchildren, Angie (Justin) Gleiter, Sara (Jeremy) Klukas, Peggy Wallace, Chris Grundtner, Jenny (Mike) Larrabee, Toby Grundtner, Jeremy (Melissa) Martinson, Travis Martinson (Jen Rud), Amber Boda (Andrew Turner), Ashley (Robert) Hoffmann, and Jacob Tilseth; 22 great-grandchildren, Hailey, Kennedy, Chloe, Paige, Emma, Brianna, Alexia, Phaedra, Selah, Elise, Josephine, Roman, Autumn, Sydney, Caitlin, Eric, Ryanna, Dillon, Cash, Cohen, Mitch and Olivia. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Bonnie; his parents, Clarence and Hedwig; sisters, Doris, Johanna, Clarine, Hildegard, Francis, Lucille; and brother, James. Memorial Services was held at 6 p.m. on Sunday, November 27, 2016, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 E. Railroad Ave., Colfax, with Pastor Michael Larrabee officiating. Visitation was held two hours prior to the service. Military Honors were conducted after the service at the funeral home by Russell-Toycen American Legion Post 131. Burial will take place at a later date at Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery near Spooner, Wisconsin.
