Waldemar "Waldy" Jenson Obituary

Waldemar Severin Jenson, 88 of Elk Mound, WI died Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Menomonie, WI with his family by his side. He was born on January 10, 1925 in Elk Mound to John and Amanda (Lindquist) Jenson. On June 6, 1953, he married Ardell Foslid of Colfax. Together they moved to Waldemar's home farm where they dairy farmed and raised five sons. While working hard on the farm he also worked out to help support his family. The places he worked included: Hot Mix Pavers, Presto, and Bergman Blacktop. After retirement he worked at Kyle's IGA in Colfax, where he enjoyed the presence of his co-workers. Waldemar was a shy, hardworking, and gentle person; but more than that, a great husband, father, and friend. Waldemar is survived by his three brothers, Clinton (Margaret) of Chippewa Falls, Cecil, Jerome (Marion) both of Eau Claire, Phyllis (Wife of the late Eilert) of Menomonie; five sons, Duane (Sue Stai) of Colfax, Steve (Karla Smith), Mike (Phyllis Benson), Larry (Angela Wahl) all of Elk Mound, Danny (Becky Larson) of Colfax; 23 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren; along with many extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ardell; his parents, John and Amanda; two sisters, Olena (Ben Christopherson) and Gulinda (Alton Christopherson); three brothers, Walter, Adolph (Myrtle), Eilert; Kathryn (Wife of Cecil); along with many extended family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Barum Lutheran Church in Elk Mound, with Pastor Hal Schroetter officiating and burial following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 2, 2013, at Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax, and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
