Daniel Michael Lee

Daniel Michael Lee, age 74, went home peacefully to his Lord & Savior on Feb. 16th, 2024 after a long journey with Alzheimer's, surrounded by family.

Dan was born on July 16th, 1949 to Alf and Sylvia Hazel Lee of Colfax. He met and married the love of his life, Dort (Sykora) Lee, on April 16th 1971. They settled on a portion of the original Lee farmstead. They had two children, Michael Alf and Gretchen Marie.

He had various employment opportunities before working 39 years at Sanna Dairies of Menomonie, retiring at the age of 62.

Dan and Dort committed their hearts to Jesus in 1980. They attended Bethany Lutheran Church for 20 years where he served as an Elder on the Board. The past 24 years up to the present they have worshipped and served at Bloomer Baptist Church.

He had many interests and hobbies including dancing with his beautiful wife, golf league, bowling league, fishing, traveling, spending time on the pontoon, mowing lawns and making people laugh. He enjoyed watching his children's many activities and eventually his grandchildren's.

During his 3 month stay at the Colfax Senior Assisted Living, he won the hearts of the caregivers and residents. St. Croix Hospice, although brief, were angels on earth and provided loving compassionate care. Even though Alzheimer's altered his memory and function, his faith never wavered. He praised Jesus' name to the very end.

Dan is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 52 years Dort Lee. His children Michael (Stacey) Lee and Gretchen (Jordan) Herrick and five grandchildren: Isaac (girlfriend Angel), Rebecca (fiancé Jake) and Nathaniel (Cari) Lee; Spencer (Aryn) and Sydney Herrick.

A memorial service for Dan will be held on Sat., Feb. 24th at 12:00 p.m. at Bloomer Baptist Church, 2620 Duncan Rd, Bloomer, WI, 54724. A visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the church. A luncheon will follow the service. A private burial will follow at a later date.
