Avis Rogde Kragness

Avis Kragness, 97, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Colfax Health & Rehab. She was born on March 28, 1920, to Enoch and Carrie (Rogde) Hoover, and was raised on a farm near Rock Falls, WI. Avis was united in marriage to R. Lloyd Kragness on February 12, 1944, and spent 62 gratifying years together. She was a lifelong dairy farm wife, participated in many church activities and was past chair of Hope Circle. Avis is survived by three sons, Rodney (Jodie) Kragness of St. Joseph, MN, Dennis (Mary) Kragness of Colfax and Jerome (Deb) Kragness of Eau Claire; two daughters, Ann (Tommy) Mader of Cottage Grove, and Barbara (Jay) Huey of Monument, CO; fourteen grandchildren, Rhonda (Tom) Erickson, Tina Bagneski, Brad and Brent Kragness, Brandy and Brittany Kragness, Erica (Matt) Poirer, Karl (Mandy) Kragness, Kari (Ryan) Sharp, Denise (Andy) Knauer, and Julia (Andrew) Shannon, Cambrielle, Austin and Ty Huey; nine great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; four brothers; one daughter, Linda Bagneski; one grandson; and three great-grandsons. Avis’s family wishes to extend sincere and heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff at Colfax Health & Rehab and Heartland Hospice during her final years. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Colfax Lutheran Church, 601 River St. Colfax, WI 54730 or Colfax Health & Rehab, 110 Park Dr. Colfax, WI 54730. Funeral services will be held at Noon, on Friday, March 16, 2018, at Colfax Lutheran Church with Pastor Les Walck officiating. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to Noon, on Friday at the church. Burial will take place at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery, Colfax.
