George J. Krall, 76, of the Township of Colfax, lost his battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at his residence. He was born on October 22, 1938, in Chicago, IL, a son of George and Albena (Prezell) Krall. George joined the US Navy in 1956, and was called to active duty in December 1957. He served one year on Midway Island and one year in Okinawa, Japan. George married Judy Zika on January 2, 1963, in Chicago, IL, at Immaculate Conception Church. Together they had a wonderful journey in life together for 52 years and raised three sons. The last 38 years of his life have been in Colfax, WI. During his life, George was a Systems Analyst for many computer companies, the latest being ITT Financial Company. George enjoyed his retirement as a snowbird to Tucson, AZ. During the summer months here in Wisconsin, he loved camping and sailing on Lake Superior with his family. When home, he loved doing different projects around the house, which usually included his tractor. He was a big fan of NASCAR and attended some of the races. George will be sadly missed by his wife, Judy; three sons, Steve (Tammy), Jim (Heidi) and Brian (Stacy) all of Colfax; six grandchildren, Heather (fiancée Ken Bettasso) Krall of Chippewa Falls, Brittany (Kyle) Davis of Strum, Karly (Brandon Nevala) Krall of Chippewa Falls, Adam, Austen and Kyle Krall all of Colfax; two sisters, Georgina (Jack) Traut and Jeannine Krall, both of Reno, NV; brother, John (Debbie) Krall of Cary, IL; sister-in-law, Bev (Jim) Rupany of South Barrington, IL; and many uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents. George finished his journey in life knowing he was blessed with a wonderful life and is resting now in the arms of his Lord. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2015, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 4540 State Highway 40 in Cooks Valley, with Father John Potaczek officiating. Visitation will be held from 4to 7p.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave. in Colfax, and again one hour prior to the Mass, Friday, at the church. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax with military honors conducted by the Russell-Toycen American Legion Post #131. Following the burial, the family would like to invite everyone for a luncheon at Sampson Funeral Home.
