Wanda D. Auth

Wanda D. (Nysted) Auth, age 86, a long-time resident of Colfax, Wisconsin was called to her heavenly home on September 23, 2016 after a brief stay at the Colfax Health & Rehabilitation Center. Wanda Daisy Nysted was born on November 20, 1929 in Marshfield, Wisconsin, to Peter & Tilla Nysted. She graduated from Loyal High School and married Wilbur Lawrence Auth of Colfax. For a while they lived in California where Wilbur worked for Lockheed Aircraft during the War and one child, Paula Jo was born. They then returned to Wisconsin where Wilbur farmed in rural Colfax. Following Wilbur’s death in 1964, Wanda and daughter Paula moved to the village of Colfax where Wanda lived until her death. A loving mother and grandmother, she cherished time with her granddaughters, Laura and Amy, and get- togethers with her immediate and extended family. She enjoyed hook-latching, doing jigsaw puzzles, reading, and singing - she had the voice of an angel. While her health still permitted it, Wanda was often seen riding her bike around town. She loved the Lord and spent many hours reading her Bible. A highlight of her week was attending Sunday school and church services at the Colfax Methodist Church and fellowshipping with her beloved church family. She is survived by her daughter, Paula (Larry) Tribolini; granddaughters Laura Joy (Brian) Rhodes, and Amy Lynn (Zachary) Wight; 1 brother, Leonard Nysted; 2 sisters, Mary Nysted and Jeanne Dahlby; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur; parents Peter and Tilla Nysted; 3 brothers, Lyle Nysted, Julius Nysted, and Orville Nysted; 3 sisters, Margaret Noeldner, Pearl Ursin, and Violet Finet. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Colfax United Methodist Church in Colfax with visitation from 1:00 - 2:00 prior to the service, also at the church.
