Warren G. Aasen, 85, of Colfax, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2018, at HSHS Sacred Heart Hospital, in Eau Claire, WI. Warren was born on April 20, 1933, to Helmer and Dagny (Magnusson) Aasen in Berlin, N.H., but lived most of his life on a farm in Albertville, WI. He attended Chippewa Falls High School and graduated with the Class if 1951. Warren admirably served in the U.S. Marines from 1952-1955. He worked hard as a dairy farmer, a set-up man at Presto Industries in Eau Claire and responsible in a demanding position at Sanna Dairy in Menomonie. Warren loved history, meteorology, reading, old movies and serials. He was a very kind man, great with animals, especially to his pet cat, Clara, who lived 30 years. Warren was a wonderful brother to Franklin. They lived together for over 40 years sharing a rural, simple life among nature. He will be thoroughly missed by anyone who knew him. Warren is survived by his two brothers, David and Franklin Aasen; and best friends, Dan Smiskey and Bernie Blodgett. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Arnold Aasen. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Big Elk Creek Cemetery in rural Elk Mound with Pastor Hal Schroetter officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by the Colfax American Legion Russell Toycen Post 131. Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax is assisting the family with arrangements.
