Barbara Ann Peterson, 87, of Shakopee, MN, passed away on Saturday, January 20th, 2018, at Friendship Manor Health Care Center, Shakopee, MN, surrounded by her family. She was born in Chippewa Falls, WI, on October 11, 1930, a daughter to Herman and Hazel (Longdo) Klukas. Barb loved fishing, RV-ing, and indulging her grandchildren. She lived with Taryn and Bob for several years in Shakopee before moving into Friendship Manor Nursing home. Her granddaughter, Tashana, regularly visited her there to provide comfort, hair dressing services, and to serve as a vital link for Barb with family and friends. Her son, Mitchell, would also come down to visit and read the Bible to her. Barb left a wonderful legacy of love, kindness, and generosity. She is survived by her children, Greg Peterson (Sandy), Tamara Peterson, Taryn Nelson (Robert) and Mitchell Peterson (Nancy); grandchildren, Angela, Krista, Tiffany, Joshua, Tashana, Javanna, Adam, Andrew, and Amber; many great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Lee, Jane, and Sharon; and brother, Roger. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Hazel; husband, Alvin; and sister, Susan Nelson. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at the Colfax Lutheran Church, 601 River Street, Colfax, WI, with Pastor Leslie Walck officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church. Private family burial will be held at a later date.
