Obituary

Barbara Ruth Stobb, 88, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2021 at Colfax Health and Rehabilitation Center. Barb was born in St. Paul, MN on January 2, 1933 to Albert and Clarice Prieve and was raised on a farm in rural Fall Creek. She graduated from Colfax High School. She worked for many years at the Dunn County Healthcare Center and then at the Elk Mound Mini Mart, retiring in 2006. Barb was a member of Barum Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School, was secretary of the Ladies Aid, sat on the Church Council and was active in the Altar Guild. Barb belonged to Altoona VFW Post 10405 Auxiliary for many years. She was a wonderful cook and a well-read individual; she loved doing crosswords and studying history. She loved all of her family very much. Loving the Lord directed her daily life. Barb is survived by son, Paul (Barb) Stobb and daughters, Catherine Larson, Linda Stobb and Patricia Stobb. She is further survived by 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Lange; and dear friend, Cora Shafer. Barb is preceded in death by her son, William "Bill" Stobb; brothers, Albert, Virgil and Richard; sisters, Betty and Shirley; and special furbaby, Bo. A memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 E. Railroad Ave, Colfax, WI, with Pastor Tom Hendrickson officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. John's Cemetery, Town of Lincoln, WI.
