Cathy L. Johnson, 57, of Colfax, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018, at Mayo Clinic Health Systems, Eau Claire, surrounded by her family. She was born in Boyceville on April 1, 1960, the daughter of Norman and Barbara (Hovland) Seeger. Cathy attended Colfax High School and graduated with the class of 1978. After graduation, she worked as a nursing assistant at Colfax Health and Rehabilitation Center, also at the Colfax Public Library for several years. She married Donald M. Johnson on October 17, 1981, at Colfax Lutheran Church. Together they had a daughter, Amanda. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking, cross-stitching, and collecting hand-made Amish baskets. Cathy is survived by her husband, Don; daughter, Amanda (Matt Fetting) of New Auburn; grandson, Wyatt Fetting; sister, Karen (Dan) Sarauer of Colfax; brother, David Holmes (Wendy) of Menomonie; several uncles; aunts; nieces; nephews; also survived by other relatives and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave, Colfax, with Pastor Matt Saarem officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Internment will take place at a later date.
