Obituary

Clifton "Skip" Hill Skip passed away Wednesday, June 25, 2025 peacefully watching the sunrise and sunset of the Kachemak Bay in Homer, AK. He was born July 3, 1937 to Edna (Erickson) and Elmer Hill in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin.

He grew up in Colfax, Wisconsin enjoying family and the outdoors. One of his greatest childhood honors was being awarded an Eagle Scout by his uncle, Thomas Hill at the age of 14.

He graduated Colfax High School in 1955. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War with active duty. He worked for the family business at the Hill Oil Company in Colfax. In the 70's Skip moved to Alaska and from the time he arrived his life became filled with adventure in work and the outdoors. He found his passion working with the airlines in building maintenance and plumbing.

He met the love of his life, Wanda in Dillingham, Alaska and married in 1989. They moved to Homer in 1990 enjoying their life with travel and spending time with those they loved most. They both shared the same interests and loved helping and caring for others. She preceded him in death in 2011. During their time together they started W.M Maintenance where Skip enjoyed traveling often to the most remote areas.

He loved fishing, hunting and camping. He spent most of his time on the water with family, friends and occasionally by himself.

Skip is survived by his children: Jenny (Dave) Riebe, Deeni (Dan) Sobotta, Scott Hill, Kendi (Kyle) Repaal and Jessica Kadinger; grandchildren, Courtney (Greg) Poeschel, Austin (Hailey) Dressel, John Riebe, Riley Leach, Camryn Hill, Carson Hill, Guthrie Hill, Bayleigh Repaal, Collin Repaal, Rowdy Kadinger and Ariah Kadinger and siblings, Mary (Don) Fennie and John (Nancy) Hill, Richard Johnson also by several nieces, nephews and close friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Edna and Elmer Hill; wife, Wanda M. Hill; sisters; Nancy Johnson and Alice (Duane) Hart and niece, Audra Hart.

A celebration of life will take place from 4PM - 8PM on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at the Viking Bowl & Catering, 108 S. Main Street, Colfax, WI 54730. Inurnment will follow at Hill Grove Cemetery, Colfax, with military honors conducted by Russell-Toycen American Legion Post 131 at 8PM.

A memorial will be made in Skip's honor to the Colfax High School supporting an annual Scholarship providing education for children with special needs or a graduating senior pursuing applicable profession.
