Obituary

DeWayne L. Longdo, 76, of Colfax, died suddenly on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at his residence. Wayne was born on February 29, 1940, in Colfax to Henry and Lillian (Klukas) Longdo. He married Patricia Schuch on July 30, 1962, in Menomonie. Wayne entered the US Army right after High School in 1958, and served 3 years before being honorably discharged in 1961. He was a bus mechanic and a bus driver for the Colfax School District for over 25 years until he retired in 2008. Wayne loved working on cars and tractors, going to car shows, demo derbies, casinos, and watching the Packers. He also loved spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Pat; 3 sons; 2 daughters; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 6 step-grandchildren; 9 step-great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 3 sisters; 4 brothers-in-law; 5 sisters-in-law; 1 uncle; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; 2 brothers-in-law; 1 sister-in-law; and 4 nephews. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2017, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 E Railroad Ave, Colfax. A private family burial will be held at a later date in Evergreen Cemetery in Colfax, with Military Honors conducted by the Russell-Toycen American Legion Post 131.
