Doreen D. Lorenzen, age 50 of Colfax, died peacefully at home with her family by her side, under the care of St. Joseph's hospice, on Tuesday, July 23, 2013. She was born to Billy & Agnes (Larson) Ferry in St. Paul, MN on April 18, 1963. Doreen graduated from Colfax High School in 1981. She married Rodney Lorenzen on July 25, 1981. She led a life full of great passion for everything she set her mind to. She enjoyed making quilts and singing with her friends in Red Cedar sounds, the local Sweet Adenines group. For twenty years she worked at Colfax Health and Rehab cooking and baking for the residents there. In the final years of her life she walked in both oceans and loved to watch the tides go in and out. Doreen is survived by her husband of 32 years, Rod; son, Sean; daughter, Kayla; mother, Agnes; brothers, Guy Ferry, Virgil (Karen) Ferry, Dean (Penny) Ferry and Thomas Ferry; along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. A Celebration of Life will be from 12 (Noon) to 3 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2013, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave., Colfax, with a time of remembrance beginning at 2:30PM.
