Ernst "Ernie" A. Sundstrom, Jr., 81, of Colfax, WI, died Friday, March 29, 2019 at The Neighbors of Dunn County in Menomonie, WI. Ernie was born in Colfax on March 8, 1938, to Ernst and Lillie (Tande) Sundstrom. In 1957, Ernie enlisted in the U.S. Army. He worked at Giddings & Lewis Building Precision Machinery in Fond du Lac, until he retired in 2009. Ernie enjoyed his hunting and fishing trips with his family. Ernie is survived by his sisters, Joyce Hughes, Audry (Bill) Gorr, Barbara Mousel, Kathy Solberg, Linda Matteoni, and Laurel (Dick) Larson; brothers, Brian (Rita) Sundstrom and Savin (Kathy) Sundstrom; sisters-in-law, Mary Sundstrom and Joyce Sundstrom; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Bonnie Bosben, Sharon Taylor, Alfred Sundstrom and Bruce Sundstrom. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holden Church. The family wishes to thank the staff at Neighbors of Dunn County and especially the Hospice staff. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 20, 2019, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 E. Railroad Ave. in Colfax, with Vicar Chuck Shingledecker officiating. There will be no visitation prior to the service. Burial will be in Northern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Spooner, WI.
