James "Jim" Carl Rude, 72, of Colfax, WI died Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems in Menomonie, WI. He was born September 17, 1942 in Colfax, WI; son of Peter and Ona (Cardin) Rude. The family moved to Alaska in 1956. Jim graduated from West High School in Anchorage, AK. He joined the United States Navy and was stationed in California. While serving he worked as a Navy structure mechanic. On September 6, 1969 Jim married Jane Linberg at the Colfax Lutheran Church. Jane and Jim were neighbors for many years and grew up together. Upon his discharge from the Navy they moved to Alaska and in 1998 moved back to Colfax.He was a truck driver for Sea land Transportation and K&L Distribution in Alaska. Jim hunted deer and moose. His favorite place to hunt was at Jim Creek in Alaska. He enjoyed attending his grandson's sporting events. He also enjoyed playing cards, family gatherings and telling many amazing "tall tales". Jim played guitar and piano and loved listening to his daughters sing .In the past he raced motorcycles and cars. Jim is survived by his wife, Jane of Colfax; daughters Angela Anderson of Colfax, Jennifer Collman of White Bear Lake, MN, Tina (Chris) Anton of Anchorage, AK, Diana (Clay)Hibbard of Eau Claire; grandson, Brandon Anderson of Colfax and granddaughter, Ella Anton of Anchorage. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Gary and Ernie Rude. Memorial Services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 8, 2015 at Colfax Lutheran Church with Pastor Leslie Walck officiating. Military honors will be presented by Colfax American Legion.
