James J. Muszynski, also known as "Irish", 87, of Elk Mound, passed away on Saturday, October 20, 2018, at Colfax Health & Rehab Center. Jim was born on January 9, 1931, in Eau Claire, to Joseph and Emma (Greening) Muszynski. Jim worked at Marathon Luggage in Schofield, WI, for many years. Later he worked at D.C. Everest High School, was an EMT, and was on the fire department in Schofield. He also drove bus for both Schofield and Elk Mound Schools. Jim enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, participating in many motorcycle events and winning many trophies. He also enjoyed riding his bicycle from Schofield to Elk Mound. Jim obtained his pilot's license and loved taking people for rides. He enjoyed boating, canoeing, water and snow skiing, snowmobiling, helping others and was active in church activities. He played Jesus in The Passion Play, in Schofield for quite a few years. Jim belonged to the Knights of Columbus and a few bowling teams. Jim is survived by two brothers, Ronald (Marlys) Muszynski and William (Elaine) Muszynski both of Elk Mound; as well as many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Irene Cardinal on October 1, 2018, Jessie Haas, Imogene Muszynski, Donna Morgan, and Rose Rude; brothers, Charles, John and Frank Muszynski. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 am, Saturday, October 27, 2018, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 417 W. Menomonie St. in Elk Mound. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass on Saturday at the church. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Town of Spring Brook.
