Jason "Shorty" Darrell Schauer, age 39 of Colfax, died on Saturday, January 25, 2014. He was born on November 28, 1974, in Bloomer WI, to Darrell and Linda (Larson) Schauer. Shorty graduated from Colfax High School in 1993. He worked at Mikes Repair for over twenty years. He enjoyed riding his Harley, fishing & hunting, camping, but most of all; he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone he touched. Shorty is survived by his soul mate and love of his life, Lisa Smestuen; parents, Darrell & Linda Schauer; sons, Adrian, Austin & Aaron; grandson, Michael; sisters, Stacey Hazuga and Andrea (Ben) Anderson; grandmother, Bev Schauer; niece, Ava Hazuga; nephews, Kade Anderson, Tanner Path (godson) and Reid Path. Shorty is also survived by his other godson, Cole Seehaver, aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends. He is preceded in death by his grandpa, Arvin Schauer; and grandparents, Norman & Helen Larson. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Avenue, Colfax WI, 54730, with a Funeral Service beginning at 7 p.m. Pastor George Schweitzer will be officiating.
