Jean Anne "Jeannie" Nelson, age 59, of Elk Mound, WI, passed away, Tuesday, September 29, 2015 in the arms of her loving husband after a long courageous battle with cancer. Jeannie was born December 14, 1955 in Eau Claire, WI to Harold and Jacqueline (Beldon) Flick. She was a graduate of Chi-High School in Chippewa Falls. She went into the working world and took a position with Mason Shoe Co. in Chippewa, which she enjoyed for twenty-six years until the shoe company closed. She was proud of the fact she had worked the first sixteen years without having missed one day of work. After the closing, she was a waitress at the Albertville Tavern for ten years and at this time, started her own business out of her home named, Jeannie's Sewing and Repair. From her days of sewing shoes, she started mending clothing and leather goods for others. She loved being a "Seamstress" and made a lot of her own clothing. Jeannie married Michael E. Nelson on April 4, 1986 in Chippewa Falls, WI, but had been together for ten years prior to that. The "love of her life" was her rock and they were inseparable. During her eight year bout with cancer, Mike stood by her side and the two of them fought the fight together. Jeannie enjoyed gardening and from the harvest, she loved to can and cook. The outdoors and being at home was important to her and she took pride in "primping" her yard and garden. On a nice day, you could see Jeannie driving her little white Vette or picking up a couple of girlfriends and going cruising in her 1954 Oldsmobile, fittingly named, "The Pink Lady." Jeannie's laugh was very distinct and very infectious. Time spent at home was lovingly spent with Mike; but had to be shared with her two precious Dachsies, Frank and Annie Mae, which she thought the world of. Jeannie is survived by her husband, Mike of Elk Mound; step-son, Doug Nelson of Eleva; two step-grandchildren; sister, Lori Gregori and great nephew, Jadyen, of Redondo Beach, CA; brother, Dale Fleming of New Richmond; brother-in-law, Mark and (Linda) Nelson of New Auburn and sister-in-law, Judy (John) Harper of Hallie; her extended and loved family; and of course, her two Dachsies, Frank and Annie Mae. Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Jackie (Beldon) Flick; and brother-in-law, Jeff Nelson. A Graveside Service will take place on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Big Elk Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Town Of Wheaton, Chippewa County, 6118 County Hwy. M, Elk Mound, WI. All are invited to attend.
