Joyce R. Foslid, 77, of Colfax, passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, November 19, 2016. Joyce was born on July 29, 1939, in Menomonie, to Rex and Lucille (Strawn) Sunderlin. She attended school in Elk Mound and graduated with the class of 1958. On June 8, 1963, Joyce married Clifford B. Foslid, at Trinity Methodist Church in Menomonie. She worked at Sanna Dairy for many years. After her kids were born, Joyce was a stay at home mom and worked on the farm. After selling the farm, she continued her working career at the Ramada Inn as a housekeeper. Joyce had a strong faith in God for many years. She enjoyed being active as a Sunday school teacher, was a part of the Mission Friends Women's Group, and proudly sang at church with her children. She was very loving and involved with her family, supporting her children, grandchildren and extended family. Joyce was also a proud Godmother to five children. She enjoyed collecting bird figurines, reading, and was a wonderful cook, always making sure nobody went hungry. Joyce is survived by her husband of 53 years, Clifford; daughter, Tammy (Kyle) Dresel, of Colfax; twin brother, Jerry Sunderlin, of Colfax; daughter-in-law, Gail Foslid, of Eau Claire; sister-in-law, (who was more like a daughter) Juanita (Marvin) Wright of Eagan, MN; five grandchildren, Janesa, Jacob, Jamee, Brooklynn and Hunter; one great granddaughter, Jayde; and many other extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son, Robert C. Foslid. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday, November 23, 2016, at Bethany Lutheran Church, 805 University Ave. in Colfax, with Pastor Ron Wik officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 22, 2016, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 E. Railroad Ave. in Colfax, and again from Noon until 1:30 p.m., on Wednesday at the church. In happy moments, praise God. In difficult moments, seek God. In the quiet moments, trust God. In every moment, thank God.
