Keith E. Bergeson, age 52, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 22, 2024. He was born in Eau Claire, WI on November 16, 1971, to John and Cathy (Potere) Bergeson. Keith attended Fall Creek High School where he was an honor student and excelled in football, basketball, and track. He then earned a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Public Health from UW-Eau Claire and dedicated more than 25 years to his field. Keith was married to Jill (Fossum) Bergeson for 15 years, and together they had two children, Alyda and Nicholas, whom he adored. He loved attending their activities and spending time with them, especially "Up North" at the cabin. Everyone knew him for his passion for the outdoors, a trait he learned from his dad. Keith enjoyed hunting, fishing, planting crops/trees, going to the cabin, and just spending time on the land that he loved to share with family and friends. Keith is survived by his two children, Alyda and Nick, and Jill, all of Colfax, WI; his parents, John and Cathy (Potere) Bergeson of Eau Claire, WI; his brother, Dave (Deann) Bergeson of Eleva, WI; his sister, Janette (Layne) Hanson of Viroqua, WI; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins, and James Schintgen, his lifelong, best friend. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Edward and Pauline Potere, and his paternal grandparents, Odin and Alida Bergeson. Visitation will begin at 3:00 pm, concluding with a short service at 5:00 pm, Saturday, January 27, 2024, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 Railroad Ave, Colfax, WI.
