Obituary

Kerry (Odegard) Saiko, age 50, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 26th at Mayo Hospital in Eau Claire, WI after a courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her loving husband and daughter. Kerry was born on July 12, 1974 and was joyfully welcomed by her mother Ellen Odegard and big sister Elisha. From the beginning, Kerry carried a kind heart and a beautiful spirit. She touched the lives of those around her with her quiet demeanor and deep faithfulness to her family and friends. She is survived by her devoted husband, Jeff Saiko; their daughter, Sophia Saiko; Kerry's daughter, Adrienne (Hunter) Larson and her grandson, Ayden Okerglicki; her sister, Elisha (Jason) Stone; her niece, Kaely (Jose) Vasquez and great nephew, Josiah Vasquez; mother-in-law, Josephine Mazzaro; Rich Hanson; stepdaughters, Alexandrea (Kevin) Olson and stepgrandson, Oliver Olson, Madeline Saiko (Dravin Cluff), Mikiah Saiko (Sam Waldhart); and her father, John Odegard. Kerry's family was her greatest pride and joy and she cherished every moment spent with them. Kerry is preceded in death by her mother Ellen Odegard, her maternal grandparents Harold and Estelyn, her brother-in-law Kevin Rieck, father-in-law Allen Wallace Saiko, and stepfather-in-law Rod Schlough. Kerry was employed at PESI Company out of Eau Claire, WI as a Materials Management Coordinator, devoting 24 years to this company. She was dedicated to her job and would travel several times to different states to set up materials for seminars and other events. She was a wealth of knowledge and held many important roles, always kind and helpful. She found joy in the simple things and creating memories with those she held dear. She enjoyed celebrating birthdays and holidays or just a random weekend stay at her sister's house. She had a talented skill in drawing and creating food in the kitchen. The sparkle in her eyes often said more than words ever could. She and Jeff shared a unique and special bond, often communicating their love through songs. One of their promises to each other was to never say goodbye-instead, they always ended their conversations with "I love you and okay." Kerry's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. Her quiet bravery, deep love, and lasting light will never be forgotten. In every life she touched-as a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished sister, and loyal friend-she gave her heart freely. Though she is gone from our sight, her love remains the light that guides us all. A visitation and service will be held on Saturday, June 7th at the Viking Bowl, 108 S. Main St., Colfax WI. from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. A visitation will be held from 2:00-3:30 PM and a meal will be served in the banquet area at 3:30 PM, with the service beginning at 5:30 PM.
