Lynda Marie (Dobbs) Wahl, 67, of Durand, WI, formerly of Colfax, passed away with her family by her side at home on Friday, December 16, 2016. Lynda was born July 13, 1949, in Eau Claire, WI, to Bill and Edith (Gormanson) Dobbs. She graduated in 1967 from Colfax Public Schools. Lynda attained her CNA license and went to work at Colfax Nursing Home, St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Wabasha, MN, and Dunn County Health Care Center. Lynda loved being with and taking care of people. The joy or her life are her grandsons, Patrick and Trystin, who she lovingly referred to as "her boys." Lynda enjoyed spending time up north with her grandsons and also with extended family at the Lincolnwood Resort on Long Lake. She enjoyed dancing and playing the drums for her father when he needed a break while playing with the Top Notchman Polka Band. She is survived by her husband, Dan "Chief" Wahl of Durand, WI; children, Doug (Margaret Steindl) Carlson of Durand, WI, Michelle (Doug Fleming) O'Connell of Menomonie, WI, two grandsons, Patrick and Trystin; step-mother, Amie Dobbs of Menomonie, WI; step-children, David (Sally) Wahl-Caldwell family of Nashville, TN, and Ricky (Valene) Wahl-Caldwell family of Durand, WI; siblings, Lonnie (Edie) Dobbs of Sierra Vista, AZ, Barbara (Bart) Corcoran of Las Vegas, NV, Allan (Diane) Froiland of Eau Claire, WI, Carol Retzloff of Menomonie, WI, and Michael (Nancy) Froiland of Fairfield, CA and their families; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Edith (Gormanson) Dobbs; sister, Prescilla Dobbs; and brother, Larry Dobbs; step-sons, Jeff Wahl-Caldwell and Danny Wahl-Caldwell. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 23, 2016, at Colfax Lutheran Church, 601 East River Street, Colfax, with Pastor Leslie Walck officiating. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, December 22, 2016, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 East Railroad Avenue, Colfax, and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday. Per family request, casual dress for the service is fine if so desired. "A day without smiling, is a day wasted"
