Obituary

Margaret Irene "Stobb" Jenson, 98, of Chippewa Falls, WI, formerly a long-time resident of Colfax, WI, passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2017, at the Manor Nursing home in Chippewa Falls. She was born on August 20, 1919 in Elk Mound, WI, to Arthur & Olga (Froegner) Stobb. She attended Oak Hill Grade School. She married Clinton M. Jenson on August 3, 1943, at the Elk Mound Parsonage. She said "goodbye for now" to her husband, Clinton, in 2014, when he left this earth, and is likely quite thankful to be in Heaven now with her companion of over 70 years. In 1948, just a couple years after Clinton's return from serving during World War II, the Jenson's moved to a farm near Colfax. Country life suited Margaret. She spent many years there, gardening and working alongside her husband. She enjoyed serving friends and family with hospitality, which typically included offering more food than they could possibly eat. Her hospitality extended to animals as well, as she just couldn't turn away the stray kittens that often showed up at her door. As long as she was able, she invested time and strength into outdoor projects. Well into her 80s, she looked at a chainsaw and remarked, "If I could manage to pick that thing up, there would be a lot of trees going down around here." Her hands were not idle indoors either, as she baked, canned, and completed innumerable sewing projects. She enjoyed writing as well, and retained her beautiful penmanship her entire life. In her final years, though missing her husband dearly and ready to finish her course on earth, she never lost her quick wit and she still found great joy in her family and friends. In spite of a leg that had endured extensive surgery, she insisted on bouncing her great-grandbabies on her knees while murmuring Norwegian singsong rhymes. Margaret is survived by her two children, Carolyn (Rick) Rasmussen of Monticello, MN, and Roger (Vikki) Jenson of Chippewa Falls, WI; four grandchildren, Amy (Shawn) Stafford of Hartland, MN, Ryan Rasmussen of Maple Plain, MN, Erik (Joy) Jenson of Cremona, Alberta, Canada, and Erin (Laurence) Archambeau of Grass Valley, CA; eight great-grandchildren, Solveig, Jonah and Anju Stafford, Lukas, Josiah and Anneke Jenson, and Delaney and Evelyn Archambeau; sister, Agnes Holte of Elk Mound, WI, brother-in-law, John (Marion) Jenson of Eau Claire; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and her brothers, Raymond, Clifford, Edwin and Orville. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 30, 2017, at Sampson Funeral Home, 1017 E. Railroad Ave. in Colfax, WI, with Pastor Robert Koepp officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, October 29, 2017, at Sampson Funeral Home and again one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Barum Lutheran Cemetery in the Township of Elk Mound. A special thank you to Pam, who was Mom's caregiver in the last few months and to the Manor nursing staff for the wonderful care they gave to Mom during her last days.
