Obituary

The pillar of our family, Rodger Lemler, died on March 18th, 2025, at home with his wife of 49 years by his side. As for the rest of this obituary, Rodger's exact instructions were "doesn't matter to me what you write, I'm going to be gone"

Rodger was born on August 10th, 1950, to Robert and May (Foslid) Lemler. He graduated from Colfax High School in 1968. September 11th, 1976, he married the love of his life Rita (Boos) they would then be blessed with three sons, Randy (Brie), Ron (Erin) and Ryan (Kaylee) these boys were the love of his life, and he was so proud of them. His greatest joy was being the grandfather to four grandchildren Braden, Hannah, Amanda, and Jocelyn Lemler.

After 30 years of working at Swiss Miss in Menomonie, WI, Rodger retired. After retirement he held a few part time jobs. He would be found stocking shelves at Kyle's market or serving up lunch to the students at the Colfax school. Throughout his life, Rodger had several hobbies that kept him, his wife, and boys very busy. Rodger was involved in several 4-H activities. For many summers he would be found managing the Chippewa County 4-H food stand. Rodger also had a love for cooking. He would make sure everyone was well fed with large meal or a yummy dessert. Gardening was one of his passions. Along with his boys, he would keep a garden large enough to feed his family and most of the neighborhood all season long. Rodger also had a passion for raising and butchering chickens, with this boy's happily or voluntold by his side, they would butcher over 3000 chickens each season.

Colfax will always be Rodger's hometown, but after retirement him and Rita moved to one of their favorite places, Port Wing, WI. In true Lemler fashion he made his marks on the hearts of many new friends and neighbors.

Rodger was greeted in heaven by his grandson Braden, sister-in-law Jane Boos and several other family and friends.

The Lemler family would like to thank Regional Hospice-Ashland staff, especially Martie and Emily, for all the wonderful care and support they have given to Rodger and our family during this time.
