Ronald James Rose 1960-2024 Ronald James Rose, 63, of Elk Mound WI passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on May 9, 2024. He was born on August 6, 1960 to Phillip and Twylia Rose and graduated from Colfax High School in 1978. He married Jill Knutson on April 25, 1981 and shortly after, purchased the dairy farm he and Jill would operate together with their kids until just after she passed in 1999. He considered himself the luckiest man in the world to have found love again and married Diane Johnson on June 10, 2005, gaining three more children. After selling the farm, Ron began working at Menards Distribution Center in 2001 where he worked his way up to becoming a Maintenance Supervisor, a role he enjoyed until his death. Ron was a selfless, kind-spirited person who always thought of others first. He found his joy and peace on beautiful property in Elk Mound. A true farmer at heart, his to-do list was endless; all to give his family and friends a place to relax and enjoy. One of his greatest joys was being a Papa to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Diane Johnson-Rose and their six children; Adam (Katie) Rose, Nicole Dillinger (Michael Deck), Tessa Rose (Craig Tonubbee), Zack (Julie) Johnson, Meg Rose, and Hannah Johnson (Alex Anderson); his nine grandchildren, Callie, Jillian, Teagan, Bailey, Lior, Charlie, Daniel, Fiona and Elouise; his mother, Twylia Rose; his mothers-in-law, Dorrene Knutson and Faith Schultz; his siblings, Donna (Al) Johnson, Willie (Sheila) Rose, Julie (Gene) Sarauer, Gregg (Rhonda) Rose; Don (Sue) Rose. Additionally, he is survived by in-laws; Paula Zettler, Joyce (Jim) Spaeth, Kim Knutson, Tom (Cindy) Knutson and Mike (Karen) Knutson, as well as many beloved nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Jill (Knutson) Rose; his father, Phillip Rose; his father-in-law, Curt Knutson and Charles Schultz; a brother-in-law, Terry Knutson and one grandson, Grayson Rose. The family would like to thank Dr. Delmastro, Dr. Fallon, the Oncology and Radiology Departments and 4th Floor of Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to the American Cancer Society or a charity of your choice. A memorial service for Ron will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Elk Mound, WI, with Pastor Ron Gerl officiating. Visitation will be Monday, May 13, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at the church and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. A private graveside service at Barum Lutheran Church Cemetery, Elk Mound will be held at a later date. Arrangements were entrusted to Sampson Funeral Home, Colfax, WI.
