Preceded in death by parents, Norman and Esther Anderson; husband, David Risser; brother-in-law, Thomas Thompson; step-daughter, Lisa Dumke; step-son, James Risser. Survived by sister, Virginia Thompson; nieces and nephews, Linnea Thompson; Kathy Thompson (Marie Sherwood); Sherri Valvo; Jane Greer; Jerry Thompson; Sarah and Timothy Valvo; Harmony, Paige and Payton Thompson; step-daughter, Suzanne (Mike) Johnson. Born in Sand Creek, WI, Sonja had a 40-year career at Lutheran Brotherhood in Minneapolis, where she made lifelong friends. Sonja will be remembered for her devout faith, love of family, clever wit and a generous kindness shown to those she loved. Special thanks to Dr. Puneet Cheema for his care of Sonja during her final years fighting lung cancer. A private service for family and friends will be held in Wisconsin.
