Wayne R. Hagen, age 69 of Colfax, Wisconsin died on September 15, 2026, at Mayo Hospital in Menomonie, Wisconsin.

He was born June 23, 1957, in Brooklyn, New York to David and Gerda Hagen. He grew up in Long Island, New York. After high school he attended the University of Minnesota and graduated in 1979. He then started his military career as a 2nd Lt. in the Marine Corp.

Wayne married Rebecca Olson on May 17, 1980. He was stationed in Pensacola, Florida, Quantico, Virgina and Tampa, Florida as an officer in the computer department. His military career as a Captain was cut short in 1985 when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor. After a lengthy hospitalization, they moved to Colfax, Wisconsin where they raised their three sons. Wayne liked gardening, wood carving, and planting flowers.

Wayne is survived by his wife Rebecca, his three sons: Joshua (Todd), Carl (Kristi), and Matthew (Janelle) Hagen. He was blessed with six grandchildren: Tyler, Carsten, Aria, Levi, Kelsi and Adeline, siblings: Gary (Barb) Hagen, Sue (Greg) Knudson, David Hagen and is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law Harold and Orpha Olson.

Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax, WI with visitation held one hour prior to services at the Funeral Home. Burial will take place in Lower Running Valley Cemetery in Colfax, WI.

For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal put on immortality.”
