Hazel was born on August 5, 1928, in Ridgeland, WI, to Casper and Mathilda (Schleusner) Kaiser. She graduated from Prairie Farm High School. Hazel married Orie Obermueller on August 19, 1950, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Glenwood City. Together they raised four children. Hazel and Orie lived on a hobby farm in Glenwood City from 1950 to 1958. In 1958 Orie’s job brought them to their home of 60 years in Colfax. She then opened her own upholstery business, O&H Upholstery, with her husband, in the early 1980’s. She volunteered her time at the Colfax schools and the Grapevine Senior Center. Hazel was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Colfax Women’s Club, and the Colfax Restoration Group. She was a devoted member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Elk Mound, where she held numerous positions in the Altar and Rosary Society. She was also a Eucharistic minister. Hazel was a fan of the Colfax Vikings, the Green Bay Packers and the Milwaukee Brewers. She rarely missed any of her children and grandchildren’s games.
