Lloyd Hainstock Obituary

Lloyd Carl Hainstock, age 92 years, 8 months, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Thursday, November 24, 2016 joining his beloved wife, Lillian. Lloyd was born March 25, 1924 in Blackwell. WI to Carl W. and Lillie H. (Foust) Hainstock. He attended Knapp Settlement School and Colfax High School graduating in 1942. On April 24 1945 he married Lillian Pearl Rogge. The first 10 years of their marriage they farmed near Elk Mound WI and Bloomer WI. In 1955 they moved to Chetek, WI where Lloyd was employed by Leonard Gunderman as a milk route driver for Dolly Madison Dairy. He also worked as a mechanic for Harry Hendrickson in Chetek, & also delivered fuel oil in the area. In 1960 they purchased the DX station in Colfax from Donald Paff. This was the place he “retired” from in 1984. After retiring, he worked for Ray's Metal Works, Hovre Chevrolet and actually fully “retired” as a route driver for Commercial Testing Lab in Colfax in 2010. He was a lifetime member of Colfax United Methodist Church and served as Trustee and on other committees for many years. He loved helping out when things needed repair, etc. He was on the Chetek & Colfax Fire Departments and was fire chief on the Colfax Dept. for 15 years with a total of more than 40 years of service. He also served as a Trustee for the Village of Colfax for several years. Lloyd cared about the people of the Colfax community and was willing to help however he could. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, snowmobiling, camping and playing cards. There were many stories about the hunting trips to Skinner Creek cabin up north. The times spent at the family cabin at Winter, WI created many good memories as well. He like playing cards with family & friends – especially Dirty Clubs, Eucher and “Gotcha”. Lloyd cherished his family and was always available to help when needed. He & Lillian loved having their family together as often as possible. The Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren were their extra blessings and they doted on each one. Lloyd met his newest Great-Grandson Lawson the day before he left this world. Lloyd is survived by his children & their spouses: Kathy (Ken) Tape of Colfax; Roger (Donna) Hainstock of Eau Claire; Rick (Nancy) Hainstock of Colfax and Cindy (Tom) Knutson of Colfax. He is also survived by his precious grandchildren – Kari (Keith) Carlson of Inver Grove Heights MN; Kurt (Melissa) Tape of Ellsworth, WI; Ellyn Hainstock of Elk Mound, WI; Laura (Mike) Ziehl of Menomonie; Derick (Paulette) Hainstock of Baldwin, WI; Shanon (Ollie) Murray of Shorewood, MN; Kyle (Diana Roy) of Colfax; Renee (Mat) Goodell of Colfax. He loved to tease them all and was making sure the Great-Grandchildren had their share of his teasing: Konnor & Kate Carlson; Meredith & Mitchell Hainstock; Jacksen, Levi & Lawson Ziehl; Aubrey Hainstock; Cullen, Kinsley & Emma Murray and Kaysen Goodell. The little ones were precious to him. Lloyd is also survived by his sisters, Ruth Albricht and Marge Seehaver, sister-in-law, Beverly Hainstock, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Lillian, brother Kenneth Hainstock, sisters Neoma Chilson-Toycen and Sandra Anderson. He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law Don Chilson, Dick Seehaver, Harold Albricht & Gordon Anderson. A Celebration of his life will be held Saturday, Dec. 3rd, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Colfax United Church in Colfax. Visitation will be held Friday, Dec. 2nd 2016 from 4-8 pm at the church and 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 3rd at the church.
