Wilbur "Bill" C. LaRue, 91, of Holcombe, Wisconsin passed away on December 15, 2021.
Bill was born on August 14, 1930, in Shreveport, Louisiana and grew up in St. Croix Falls, WI where he graduated from high school in 1948. He served in the US Army Medical Corps from 1951-1953 following which he attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. It was there he met his loving wife Jean, whom he married in 1954.
After graduating from college, Bill began his 33-year career at Colfax High School where he taught history for four years and then served as the high school principal for 29 years. Through the years Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, and bowling and was a talented cook and gardener.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years Jean Adrian LaRue and three daughters, Mary of Chippewa Falls, Susan of Holcombe and Adrienne (Philip) Pau of New Market, MD; grandchildren Amanda Pau of Chesapeake, VA, Marisa (Dave) Bruce of Fairfield, PA, and Ryan (Jackie) Pau of Gig Harbor, WA; three great-grandchildren, Jordy and Cooper Pau and Jack Bruce. Surviving are also many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother Margaret McCourt LaRue, sisters Norma (Steve) Stephens and Dorothy (Bob) Drew.
A celebration of life was held for Bill on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 1 until 4 PM at The Sampson Funeral Home in Colfax, WI. Sampson Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements. Online condolences may be left for Bill's family at www.sampsonfuneralhome.com.
